Mai Shiranui [King of Fighters]
Made for Fanime 2014 to be worn on stage for a performance thus the majority of this costume was made with metallic spandex to enable easy movement at the commissioner's request. The closure system was made with velcro to make sure nothing moved out of place during the performance and enabled quick adjusts. The rope back was made from 1" cotton piping hand spun and sewn together to keep the spin. The hanging tails were made with a foam core and polyester batting at the bottoms to give the puffed effect. Hand covers and shoe covers (no picture) were added in to give a finishing touch to the overall.
