Saber from Fate Stay/Night
This costume was commissioned after the announcement of the remake for Fate Stay/Night Unlimited blade works. I'm a huge Type Moon fan and love a number of the works they do and the characters they set so I was happy to take on this project. Unlike most projects I take on the commissioner provided me with the velvet fabric, gold trip and buttons. However because of the weight and stretch of this fabric 90% of the costume was interfaced to give it a more stiff weight and better structure. The under white under dress was made using a very clean silhouette and invisible zipper. The blue dress has plastic boning in sections to help keep the garment structure. The large sleeves were quite challenging and required me to pattern three sleeves before arriving at the end result. Once the costume was finished the materials and trim really helped make this costume look grand.
